I will not be teaching you anymore
It has been a long while since I blogged. I know.
I guess by now all of you would know that I am back in school, and this time is for good! I’m not disappearing anymore.
I had the chance to tell a few of you (those of you in the class that I had relieved last week) that I will not be taking you back for the rest of the year. Miss Heng will continue to teach you English. Initially, the plan was for me to take you back once I return from my studies, but the school has other plans for me. In case you are wondering, I will be teaching P5 English and P6 Foundation Mathematics.
To tell you the truth, I was also disappointed that I will not be teaching you anymore, but looking on the bright side, I welcome the challenge of teaching the upper primary. It has been a while since I taught the bigger kids, and this is a refreshing change for me. I am a professional teacher, and it is my professionl duty to deliver my best to whoever I teach.
Similarly, the same principle should work for you. You are a pupil, and your utmost priority should be to maximise your learning, under any teacher. Your attitude for learning should not depend on “whether you like the teacher or not”, but how much to learn from the teacher to do better. Every teacher is there to develop you, so if you choose to neglect a certain subject because you don’t like the teacher, then you are really very silly because in the end you will be at the losing end.
I spoke to some of you and some of your parents during the Meet-The-Parents and am very, very happy to hear that most of you are getting along very well with Miss Heng. In fact, some of you really like her and this is a really good sign! Miss Heng is a wonderful teacher and you will learn just as well under her guidance.
I hope you understand that I am not ‘forsaking” you, or that I “don’t want to teach you”, but the school needs me to teach the other 2 classes.
I will continue to keep this blog and you are more than welcome to continue blogging too! Let’s stay in touch through cyberspace.
All the best to you.
Lots of love,
Mrs Soo
