Responsible Blogging

Dear Pupils,

I am very happy to read your blogs. Some of you are very forthcoming in your reflections, and some of you are very generous in sharing with me the on-goings in school.

I just want to remind you of your language. So far, you try your best to write in proper English. That is good! However, some of you have forgotten Rule Number 3. To refresh your memory, the rule is:

3. No bad language.

Strictly no scolding and using bad language.

Most of you do not use bad language, but a number of you have started “scolding” people whom you don’t like. When I say scolding, I mean negative adjectives like “troublesome”, “boring”, etc. I don’t think that is acceptable.

Now, please remember that your blogs are online, meaning it is on the internet, and anyone can see it.  It is important that you blog responsibly. Before you blog, ask yourself, would I hurt anyone if I write this? Is this polite or rude? Can I write it in a better way so that I don’t make anyone feel sad or upset?

So, I hope that you go back and read your previous entries in your blog, and remove whatever hurtful remarks that you might have written. Do it TODAY.
